The Canine Cognition & Training Academy (6-Week Foundation) The Philosophy: Most training focuses on what your dog does. At the Academy, we focus on how your dog thinks. We’re diving into the "Source Code" of canine behaviour to understand your dog's unique cognitive process—giving you an advantage in your future training. Is this path for you? This 6-week foundation course follows the "Slow & Steady" approach. It’s designed for the thoughtful handler who loves the process. We introduce one core cognitive task per week, giving you 7 full days to observe the results at home and savour the science as the data unfolds. What we measure together: Inhibitory Control: Does your dog think before they react? Memory & Retention: Seeing how your dog holds and uses information. Inference & Logic: Watching the "lightbulb moments" as they connect the dots. Social Bias: Does your dog look to you for answers or work independently? The Academy Experience Includes: 6 x Weekly Specialist Sessions: Each week focuses on one "Cognitive Pillar." These small-group sessions (max 5) ensure you get elite-level coaching as we install the foundation of your dog's mental map. The Owner’s Prediction Worksheet: Turn researcher! Before each task, you’ll document your predictions. Watching the "Expected vs. Actual" results is a powerful way to bridge the communication gap between you and your dog. The "Scientist’s Hat" Peer Observation: You’ll learn to read more than just your own dog. By observing how other breeds and personalities solve the same weekly puzzle, you’ll gain a professional-level understanding of canine learning styles. Weekly Individual Task Reports: You won’t just leave with notes; you’ll leave with evidence. Every week, you’ll receive an individualised report card for the task performed, building into a comprehensive library of your dog's progress. Final Cognitive Profile & Roadmap: Upon graduation, we provide a professional breakdown of your dog’s mental "Source Code." This includes a Bespoke Training Roadmap—practical, personalized tips to help guide your future training.
