🐾 Beginners Scentwork Bootcamp – Part 1

New to scentwork and want to give it a try? Then this workshop is for you! Come and discover just how much fun your dog can have using that incredible nose, while learning how to work together as a scentwork team. This 2.5-hour practical workshop is all about building strong foundations and giving both you and your dog the skills to get started. We'll cover: 🐾 Scent pairing – introducing your dog to the scentwork game 🐾 Indication games – teaching your dog how to tell you when they've found their target odour 🐾 Linear searches – building confidence through simple, structured searches 🐾 Environmental searching – taking those developing skills into a more natural search area And it's not just the dogs doing the learning! We'll look at how scentwork actually works, the subtle body-language changes your dog may show while searching, how to handle your line effectively and how your own handling can help — or sometimes hinder! — your dog's search. You'll also receive your own home practice kit, so you can continue working on the exercises and skills introduced during the workshop. Small groups, plenty of space 🐾 This workshop is deliberately limited to just 4 dogs, giving every dog and handler plenty of individual attention, time to work and opportunity to ask questions. No previous experience is needed and dogs of all ages, breeds and physical abilities are welcome. Dogs are worked on lead, with plenty of space between them. They don't need to interact with the other dogs taking part, making our workshops accessible to many anxious or reactive dogs who may struggle in a traditional group-class environment. Every dog learns differently, so there's no pressure to keep up with anyone else.
